COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS Make a difference... Volunteer! COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS: A Volunteer Friendship Program Volunteers are matched with an individual from Brantwood for the purpose of providing social connections through friendship between people with disabilities and other members of the community. Many people Brantwood supports have physical and developmental disabilities. Most are non-verbal and many use wheelchairs for mobility.Brantwood's volunteer positions are unique because your time may often be geared towards "being" rather than doing. Our clients need you to be a friend. As a friend, your presence will be your most important contribution. As a result of your presence and the time you spend together will start to identify ways in which your relationship can develop. You may discover that your new friend likes to:

Your main objective will be to provide socialization and increase community connections within the boundaries and safety regulations of Brantwood's Friendship program. We will provide you with ample support and respond to your comfort level. Our suggestion for your time commitment is very flexible; however, we appreciate an average of one hour a week. We have opportunities throughout Brantford and Brant County in any of our twelve group homes or at the Centre. Have another idea or talent . . .? Share it with us!
